Management Board

Unconfirmed Minutes from the last Management Board meeting, held on 21st November 2011 are available to CEC Group Members on the CEC Web Site.


CEC Special Extended Management Board Meeting

The Special Extended CEC Management Board Meeting in Brussels on 21-22 November 2011 was attended by over 60 delegates.  The presentations made by a number of senior Industry representatives are now available to view from the public part of the CEC Web Site.  Click on ‘Presentations and Papers’ at the top of the page


New Lubricants Test

A new Gasoline Engine Sludge Protection Test using the M271 EVO engine has been accepted as a new test development in CEC (TDG-L-107).
If your company is interested in bidding for the tender to lead this test development, please advise the CEC Secretariat by no later than Tuesday 20th December 2011.  If your company is interested in participation through sponsorship of this test up to a maximum of Euro 70,000 per company then please contact the CEC Secretariat by latest Friday 13th January 2012.  Please go to the CEC Web Site at www.cectests.org and click on the ‘Tenders’ button for full information.  


New Transmissions Test

A new Pitting Test for Gear Lubricants has been accepted as a new test development in CEC (TDG-T-108).  The lead laboratory will be FZG Institute.
If your company is interested in participation through sponsorship of this test up to a maximum of Euro 10,000 per company then please contact the CEC Secretariat by latest Thursday 26th January 2012.  Please go to the CEC Web Site at www.cectests.org and click on the ‘Tenders’ button for full information.


Proposals for a New Fuels Test

Discussions continue within ACEA, ATC and CONCAWE relating to the potential ‘Cold Starting Drivability Performance of Fuels, Bio Fuels and Additives’ (using a DV6 Euro 5 Engine).  The proposal to bring this test development into CEC is likely to be delayed until early 2012.

CEC Web Site

1.    The CEC Web Site will be overhauled and modernised next year.  If you have any suggestions for improvements, please send them for consideration by the CEC Secretariat.  
2.    A new ‘Statistical Support’ area has just been added to the existing site in the Members area.  After log-in, select it from the drop-down menu under ‘Documents.  
3.    CEC’s Special Room Rate of Euro 155 per night at the Metropole Hotel in Brussels has been extended into 2012.  All those involved in CEC are most welcome to use this rate at any time.


CEC Secretariat Opening Hours

Christmas Arrangements – The CEC Secretariat will close at 1730 hours on Thursday 22nd December 2011 and re-open at 0800 hours on Tuesday 3rd January 2012.
Normal Opening Hours are Monday to Thursday, 0800-1730 hours.  The CEC Secretariat office is closed on Fridays.
